The Boys in the Band 2020

 

I loved the entire dialogue of the characters. They somehow made it work. In only, one setting, the characters delivered their lines well. Wow. 

Daily Dose of Sunshine 2023

 

Watched this drama over the last week. It was a cry fest. Every episode would trigger your tears. Mental health is not something people should take for granted. It is very important to stay mentally healthy. 

The female lead is a nurse assigned in the psychiatric unit of the hospital. There, she encounters unique cases of patients suffering from mental illnesses. Every episode will feature how the patients acquired the illness, to the diagnosis, to the treatment, towards the journey of healing. All is good until, the female lead becomes sick herself. The latter half of the series focused on her journey to become better. 

I really enjoyed all twelve episodes of the series. I really appreciate works that showcase the importance of mental health and the support and love of people around you.

10.26.2023

It was a Thursday afternoon, when I decided to stop by a store to buy something to drink. I had merienda inside the car.  I randomly messaged him if he was available and if he wanted to come and join me. I called and waited for ten minutes, but he didn't show up. I decided then, to drive home. Few seconds of driving and I saw him. I stopped the car and waited for him. As we were chatting, I looked at his fingers and frowned. I didn't like that he wears a lot of rings. He jokingly took out the rings and gave them to me. I took them and put them inside my pocket. I said,  "Ako ni ibaligya to buy one for myself. Hahaha". He replied, " Haha, ambi na ba, kani lang oh." He pulled a red pouch and took out of it, a ring. The boyfriend was serious. I thought he only joked about buying it last Sunday and how much it cost. I demanded him to show me the receipt, and it was real. He was laughing at my reaction. The boyfriend was going to propose. Right then, and there, inside the car, he asked me, "Will you marry me?". I replied with a nod and a nervous smile. I never thought that I would ever experience a proposal in this lifetime. I wasn't even sure if I can handle marriage and the responsibilities that come with it. We were talking about "minyo2" after we got back together. I thought he was going to ask my parents first before proposing, but he messed up our timeline. He argues that he didn't want to loose the ring and always keep it in mind, he might as well give it to me as soon as possible. So, he just randomly decided to give it today.  Just like that. I now, have someone to call future hubby. While driving home, and glancing at the ring on my finger, I thought to myself, if I deserve this. This person, his promise, his future with me, and the ring which, apparently costs a lot. I have these thoughts to keep in mind. 

First Love (2022)

 

I spent the last weekend binge watching this Japanese series. I loved the way they told the story. The smooth transitions from the past to the present and vice versa were done nicely, you would not be confused with how the events turned out.

The two main  leads showed the purest of love. They were each other's first loves. The characters showed the sincerity they felt towards each other. Hays... The way the male lead looks at the female lead, you can really feel his love and sincerity. 

Summer Strike (2022)

This drama aired last year, only this year, that I got in the mood to watch a slice of life drama.

The female lead got fed up with her routinary job and the constant need to deal with people that "abuse" her goodness. After experiencing the loss of a dear one, she decided to stand up for herself and leave the job that doesn't appreciate her. She then decided to pack up her things and move to a different place. A place that she can be herself and not care of what others think of her. 

I really admire her character for doing that big move. She really prioritized herself and her happiness. 

This drama focused on healing. Healing from the things that broke you. It also focused on prioritizing oneself, that it's really important to give time for yourself, to pause and take a breather from the busy lives we're leading. 

My 2022

This is a long overdue post.

I was showered with a lot of blessings for the year 2022. First off, was the purchase of the car. With the grace of the Lord and the financial assistance of my mom, I was able to accumulate funds and pay for it. I'm still paying for the cash loan until now (*22 months to go.. wooohoo!!!), but still, I am truly grateful to the Lord for allowing me and my family to experience this blessing. 

Another blessing was the completion of my academic subjects for the EDD and the favorable result of the comprehensive exam. I don't think I have the capacity to acquire the degree. So, I guess that's it for me.

Another one, good health for most of the year. There are still days that I struggle, but overall, it's all good.

Also, I am truly thankful to the Lord for sustaining me for yet another year of work in the basic education. 

Super Show 9 - Manila

This post is dedicated to my forever love Super Junior.

Super Show 9 - Manila was my second concert experience. The August 6, 2022 show was not considered a concert, since it was only a fan meet event. Fast forward to December 17, 2022. D-day. 

 

We had to go directly to the ticket counters to get our old tickets reprinted. The line was quite long but it was all worth it. My happiness and excitement overcame the fatigue I felt. It was really a joy seeing a lot of fans who support and love SuJu. While waiting for the opening of the venue, I bought unofficial merch to give to my friends. 

Before entering the venue, we decided to eat. I have to gain back the energy I lost to shout my heart out and sing along to the songs. 

I could not wait to watch and experience the ever famous Super Show. 

The venue was opened and fans were allowed to enter. Entering the MOA arena was really smooth. We didn't experience any hassle. I was going to have my meta passport scanned, but my internet and phone, didn't cooperate. hayss...

  

The second floor was filled with individual pictures of the members. I didn't miss the chance to line-up and have my picture taken with my favorite members. The longest lines were for Donghae and Siwon, they were the crowd favorites.

  

  

The concert started at exactly 5pm. It was surreal. I only watched videos of Super Show performances on Youtube before and who would've thought I'd get to experience it. This was a dream a come true. My forever love of 15 years, Super Junior, right in front of me. Performing their hit songs. The three-hour concert was never enough  to showcase all their songs. They have a long list of hit songs, group songs, unit songs, solo songs and the concert was just a glimpse of it all, but it was all enough for me. I have waited so long for the opportunity to experience the famous Super Show. I am the happiest ELF.

I saw my ultimate bias, Lee Donghae. The guy was beyond my imagination. He was way good looking in person. It showed how he loved to perform on stage for the fans. He gave his all in every performance. He had fun interacting with all the fans. Hays... Lee Donghae best boy. I love him. 

I love all the members and their dynamics. I really hope they continue to be active for the coming years to come. ELFs will always support SuJu no matter what. 

I wish to attend another Super Show. hihi. So, iponing na tayo. hahaha.
