Kim Ji-young: Born 1982

I didn't have any assignment to do tonight. I had a free night to watch a movie. I was browsing and this movie was on the recommendations.

The movie dived into mental health. It really showed how circumstances and society would press someone to the limits. How every individual has different ways in coping and addressing issues.

I was ugly crying for almost 75% of the movie.

Mental heath should not be taken for granted.

When every sad love song made sense...

I guess, this is me being truly honest with myself. I kinda saw it coming. What happened was something I, somewhat expected. I just couldn't get my head around how it transpired. It was not good, at least on my part. Some endings are not always good. That was when every sad love song made sense.

It was a learning experience for me. It made me think of all the choices I made in life, so far. But then again, I wouldn't have learned and experienced the ups and downs of a relationship if I hadn't took  that chance sometime, four years ago.

Think of me being selfish. I was only thinking of myself, so he said. I was speechless when I read that message. Honestly, I let my pride get the best of me. I was too proud to ask for his help when I needed it. I kept my struggles to myself. I didn't want to burden him with my problems. I didn't want him to think of me as weak and dependent. He had no idea how I struggled with my health for the past couple of years. How I shamelessly cried in front of my parents in the middle of the night. I thought I was nearing death. I was too occupied with clinic visits and laboratory tests to ask him how he was doing. I thought as we were both busy with acads, we were just okay. It was a mistake on my part.

It took me one month to really process my scattered emotions. I said and did things I didn't think I'm capable of just so I could save it. But it was all worthless.

I finally get it now, how people in the movies talked about closure. But no closure is closure, nonetheless.

Everything happened for a reason. I hope one day, I may understand why all of those experiences good and bad happened.

I am writing this to finally let go of all my regrets and all the what ifs. This is only a phase I have to go through. This will only pass.

Three months have passed. I can say now that I am better. Better than how I was, three months ago.

Downton Abbey

I was browsing Netflix to find something to watch. Searched for period dramas (my go to genre *wink). After a while of scrolling, I found Downton Abbey and gave it a try.

I loved every bit of Downton Abbey. The characters, storyline, cinematography, the lines. Six seasons are not enough. I couldn't get enough of everything Downton Abbey.

Fave Character: Lady Edith Crawley. She's the middle child. Does not get a lot of attention but still, she manages to be present for everybody. She does not give up on herself. She chose to be her own person, to make decisions for happiness and herself. I love her.

Least Fave Character: Lady Mary Crawley. She is the eldest child and feels entitled to give her opinions even though they are not needed. No character development for her from season 1 to 5. Her character only developed drastically towards the end of season 6. Some late realizations on her part to take actions were only seen two episodes prior to the series finale.

Well Developed Character: Mr. Thomas Barrow. His struggles with his sexuality and the changing work positions were evidently seen. You can't help but feel for him. He did things to survive. You will have a hard time choosing to love him or hate him.

Unexpectedly Funny Character: Mr. Spratt. Just by looking at his emotionless face is a laugh. The way he talks and his funny facial expressions is such a joy. Also, the shocking plot twist for his character.

Full of Wisdom Character: Dowager Countess Violet Crawley. The one and only Maggie Smith played this character so well. The wit of the character is undoubtedly the best. She's all knowing and you can literally say "She is always right."

The series was really good. A movie was released last 2019. It is probably a continuation. I have to it watch soon.
